Our comprehensive Environmental Management System (EMS) follows the internationally recognized ISO 14001 standard, using a cyclical Plan-Do-Check-Act framework to drive continuous improvement:

  2. Analyze: Our team evaluates potential initiatives based on environmental impact, selecting those with the greatest sustainability benefits.

  4. Integrate & Execute: We implement these objectives organization-wide, from C-suite leadership to individual contributors.
  5. Check: We regularly monitor progress, evaluate effectiveness, and make necessary adjustments to ensure we're meeting our targets.
  6. Impact: We measure and report on real environmental changes resulting from our initiatives.

Remote Work & Digital Operations

Hunter Strategy’s remote-first model delivers unmatched environmental and operational benefits:

  • Reduced Commuting: Our remote workforce eliminates approximately 460 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) annually, equivalent to removing 100 cars from the road.
  • Minimized Office Footprint: Our spaces in Washington, DC and Pompano Beach, FL operate at optimized capacity, reducing overhead costs and environmental impact.
  • Digital-First Approach: We’ve eliminated nearly all paper consumption by transitioning to digital contracts, communications, and documentation.

Renewable Energy Strategy

As a digital organization providing IT services, we don’t produce hardware products. Our renewable energy footprint is strategically concentrated within our office operations in Pompano Beach, FL, and Washington, DC. We prioritize renewable energy sources through utility partnerships, sustainable cloud infrastructure, and strategic office locations selected for clean energy access.

Our remote-first workforce maximizes the efficiency of our renewable energy investments by ensuring office resources are used only when needed.

Recycling and Waste Reduction

Hunter Strategy is committed to comprehensive recycling and waste reduction across our entire digital organization, from office spaces to remote employees’ homes. Our zero-waste approach is detailed in our Hunter Handbook that every team member commits to upon joining.

  • Digital Transformation: We’ve eliminated paper consumption by transitioning to digital document signing software, removing the need for printing, faxing, or filing paperwork.
  • Strategic Waste Prevention: Our office recycling program follows the reduce, reuse, and donate model. When paper use is unavoidable, we have strategically placed recycling bins throughout our office spaces to ensure proper disposal.
  • IT Equipment Lifecycle Management:
    • Memory components are securely wiped and e-cycled when equipment reaches end-of-life.
    • Functional hardware is donated to extend its lifecycle.
    • Non-donatable items are recycled through specialized partner organizations to minimize environmental impact.
  • Continuous Expansion: As we grow, our recycling program evolves. We remain committed to expanding our initiatives and adopting innovative solutions to reinforce our dedication to environmental sustainability.

Hunter Strategy conducts annual Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reports that track our previous year’s carbon emissions and establish specific reduction targets for the current year. This annual cycle of assessment, target-setting, and progress tracking demonstrates our commitment to continuously reducing our environmental impact.
